When comparing prices from different jewelers, you must check that both diamonds in question have the same Certification and “Standards of Grading.” This will ensure the accurate comparison of products, as their “VS1” does not always equal a “G.I.A. graded VS1” depending on their certification.
Virtually identical grading standards are used by high-end labs such as G.I.A. (Gemological Institute of America), H.R.D. (Diamond High Council) and A.G.S. (American Gemological Society). Many other Certification Institutes are “for” profit labs and their aim and marketing is distinctly different – which means that less reputable labs give diamonds better ratings than what the diamonds should really earn. This practice allows shady jewelers to charge more for a “high graded diamond” because the stone appears to be a “F” when it really is a “H” by the high standards of the AGS or GIA, etc.
Please choose wisely and only chose “High Standard” Independently Graded Certifications from reputable labs such as:
AGS Diamond Grading Report or GIA Diamond Grading Report
